Could i make a lead up with guitar plug one end,mono 3.5mm jack the other.....plug it into the mic input on my soundcard and use it to practice along with cds etc????? I've done this before, it's a cheap way of DIing your bass (though I wouldn't expect the best quality But it'd be fine for practising). Guest johnzgerman Posted July 21, 2010 Share Posted July 21, 2010 i do this all the time and practice with headphones, you just need a converter to get from 1/4inch mono jack to stereo mini jack, its also advisable to rest the cable on something next to the computer so the connection does'nt have any weight on it. the computer adds a bit of compression but it sounds ok for practice.
