Gwilym Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 hi Chris. What's the string tension like on the MTD sets? I've just started using DR Sunbeam 40s to get a more flexible string at 35", so wondering of you had any view on the stiffness of the MTDs by comparison? cheers G
chrkelly Posted July 24, 2010 Author Posted July 24, 2010 Hi Gwilym, They're pretty high tension, not quite as much as MTD steels but still feel like they have a lot of resistance. I think Mr Tobias likes his super low actions on his basses . They'll be hard work compared to sunbeam 40s. To be honest, I think if you like anything other than a super low action they'll choke a 35'' instrument a bit. My favs on the 535 at the mo are hi beams 45s with the 130 B, silky smooth feel and sound.
