The Burpster Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Does he like a tipple? Seems like a good scheme if you hurl over your instruments alot.... It wouldnt show up! In reality, as I stated aboev he relly hasnt done it any harm and there is still a MM under that! (for better or worse as they say!) Quote
charic Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 I quite like it, add gloss tho! Looks too flat Quote
warwickhunt Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Not quite how I envisaged it could have looked and I would have left the pickguard unpainted. Quote
nig Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 I voted let him do it, its his dosh i take it....then when its unsellable you can nick it and have a refurb done. Quote
Rich Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 The front looks ok-ish, in a very 'ish' sort of way... shame the sander's got the edges more than the flat of the body. The back however is crap beyond belief. Even if I hated a bass, I wouldn't made it look like that. What in the name of almighty Zarquon possessed him? Quote
LukeFRC Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 when i have a spare stingray about i would like to wreck one. i guess that will be after my 4th album goes platinum.... why? Quote
Roady Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 Oh my god... ಥ_ಥ WHAT HAS SCIENCE DONE Quote
Rumble Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 I'm with Rich on this one. The front has a ............ unique look about it and is kinda OK ....ish. The back however is another story entirely. Sure it's his money to do with as he pleases, but why anyone in an un-inebriated state would choose to do that to something they profess to 'like' is beyond me Quote
Happy Jack Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 It's a security measure. There's now absolutely no way anyone will ever nick that bass. Quote
Finbar Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 I'd like to add my two cents and say I think the SR5 pickguard looks WAY better than the SR4 one ¬_¬ Quote
queenofthedepths Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 I just acquired a Vintage Stingray copy and I was thinking of doing this to it - now I've seen the pictures, I'm very glad I didn't... Quote
lee4 Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 he will get his punshment in the afterlife Quote
queenofthedepths Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007
he will get his punshment in the afterlife
You don't think this mess is punishment enough?! Quote
thumbo Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 I actually find it quite a disappointing sight to see what he's done to that bass, but I'm sure I'll get over it. Quote
EdwardHimself Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007
Hes done it, so I got some pictures today. I quite like it, actually.
must say it's better then when i had a go at painting a glow in the dark bass! Quote
ergon Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 at first i though thats not so bad, then i saw the back... did he sand it by tieing it to his bumper and driving down a road? that being say i reckon it would finish up nicely with clear coat on top to make it all glossy... replace the scratch plate though.
