I'm also skint so it's time to move it on. The good: 35" Scale, 24 frets, Mahogany Body with Burl Maple top. 19mm string spacing at bridge. 1 3/4" nut. Maple neck and fingerboard with Buzz Feiten Tuning System. (More info on Z5 [url="http://www.mtdkingston.com/basses/Z.htm"]here[/url]) Nordstrand Big Split Pickups (Specs [url="http://www.nordstrandpickups.com/bass-pickups/index.shtml"]here[/url]) and Aguliar OBP3 pre-amp running at 18V (Specs [url="http://www.aguilaramp.com/products_preamps_obp3.htm"]here[/url]) Original pups included. The not so good: A couple of minor scratches to the finish - nothing below the finish though and pretty much unnoticeable unless you're looking for them. When I had the electronics upgraded, the wires for the pre were left long in case I wanted to swap it out again. It works perfectly but visually it is not a pretty wiring job. If neat wiring is your thing I would expect a tech to charge £30/£40 to tidy it up or you could do it yourself if you're handy with a soldering iron. [s]Could do with new strings if super zingy hi-fi tone is your thing.[/s] Now fitted with a brand new set of Dean Markley Rocco Prestia Sig Strings 45-125.
