Man, that's some plank Scofield's playing! I used to love this stuff, but no matter how hard I try it doesn't do it for me anymore. Playing is spot on and thanks Bubinbga5 for posting but I just can't work out 30 years on, why I loved this stuff so much and now it leaves me cold. Oh well, yet another problem that comes with age :)

Seen Billy last year, along with Hadrien Feraud..

Wasn't gobsmacked by Billie's stuff, but, Hadrien.. He was a few steps higher, than other musos on the stage..

More fantastic posts.

I first heard Billy Cobham on the Mahavishnu's 'Birds Of Fire' album, which I played to death as a youngster.

This is the track for me:

Probably the greatest drummer ever.

Love Cobham, but for me the greatest drummer ever, by a nautical mile, is Buddy Rich.

Yep, think I might have to agree, actually.

Well, I don't dig Hadrien's stuff either, but, on that gig, he was doin' his thing ok, and, during the last tune, he came up with a 'flurry' solo, which was simply sick.. I haven't heard any better than that from him anymore so far..

The second time I saw Rich my mate (who is a drummer) came along. At one point he actually fell out of his chair with amazement.

Anyway, back to the amazing Billy....
