Been listening to alot of my rammstein recently and i would love to be able to play the string parts when i get my RBX 375 on the 25th (courtesy of my loving dad) I was aware that the Ebow exists and from what i've seen, it's a good tool for creating infinate sustaining notes for treating your bass like a cello, however, where can i get one??? nowhere thats where! I typed the question into google and got an answer from yahoo where someone had asked a similar question and recieved a response along the lines of: "It was a crap gimmick for people who can't really play guitar but want to pretend they can, go learn to play your axe." i concluded that the responder was someone who had been unable to play using this "gimmick" and vowed to say how crap it was (and how he was so great that he didn't need it) from then on, no doubt i'll get lots of responses telling me it's not worth while and was indeed a gimmick, goody, I accept that it's a gimmick and probably a waste of time however even if i wasn't going to listen and was going to ask for one for x-mas anyway, i wouldn't get one, because there aren't any... are there?

I love mine to be honest. Steve Lawson also uses one a fair bit ( and Michael Manring).

According to the Ebow site, http://www.ebow.com/ , the UK distributors are..

* Dixie's Music 0148 442 5920 Huddersfield
* Sounds Great 0161 436-4799 Cheshire

There are a few Uk sites selling them here...

This one doesn't say it's out of stock, does it? It doesn't say they have them in stock either, but surely worth a try? And that looks a very good price!

Is the site legitimate? (not wanting to lose details to 3rd party groups etc.etc.)

Bass strings are harder to get going and it takes a while to get used to how close you need to get to them. with practice though you can get low E and even B strings going. You can also gently hammer on with your fretting hand to get the vibration going then swell the volume with the Ebow.

There's an Ebow and bass thing on my website which hops between the E and C strings on my six string...

And on a fretless 5 it just gets worse...
