Hey folks,

Not sure if this is the right place to put this or even if it may infringe on selling rules? Please feel free to advise.

Anyhoo, was down at RedDog Music in Edinburgh when I spotted this:

Perfect nick and for sale at the measly price of...wait for it £99.00

I'm skint but thought would post up here, not to advertise the shop, but for one of us to get a bargain!!

Guys are cool in the shop so here's the number: 0131 229 8211

Is the one in the shop identical to the pic? Looks like a Force 40 - honestly I've been looking for one of these for years!

Common courtesy? There wasn't the slightest hint in my posts that I was seriously interested in this? A sodding PM would have been polite.

Your screen name says it all though.

never. ever. seen one.

I would have walked to Edinburgh for that.

Made famous on the 'Graceland' album. £99!? Bloody Hell.[/quote]
I'd had every intention of walking down to the shop tomorrow morning - it's about half an hour from where I live. Didn't occur to me to reserve it 20 minutes before they shut.

I vaguely know some of the guys who work there - I suspect if I strolled in tomorrow & offered them £150 for it they'd happily sell it to me.

But I won't do that, because I'm not an utter ignorant c@nt. :)

^ Agreed, not particularly respectable behaviour there.

And there's the difference I suppose. I mean, to be honest, if I were you I'd probably go down and get it anyway, as I wouldn't feel much like showing such courtesy to someone who has made a point of showing you none, but fair play to you for sticking to the moral way of conducting yourself.

I was surprised to see this sort of behaviour from someone who's been a member for so long, it's normally something that you'd expect out of the newbies, just goes to show.

Cheers for the support chaps - I've had a few PMs about this as well.

However I think it's time to drop it - I have an easy come, easy go outlook about this sort of thing and I missed out this time, that's all. It's not worth getting hacked off over - there have been enough raised hackles on BC in the last few weeks already so let's chill about this.

Hope BIA gets the bass safe & sound & posts some pics.

No apology required!!! Wow, majorly bloody jealous though. It's the 'proper' Gracelands one!

I'd gladly be around should you need a babysitter!

Photos, Photos, Photos. When you get it.

Nice work, and should you ever fancy shifting it on, i'll be ready.

I'm still incredulous at this, as if it's not bizarre enough two of them turning up within the space of a couple of days, the prices for both were ridiculous.

Andy - if I don't get on with it, it's yours. And I won't double the price, either!

Oh, no way Andy this one's no cause for regret. I think the whole thing's ended up brilliantly and even if that SB40 hadn't turned up, I had no ill-feeling about what happened. Either way, I'm really glad you posted it in the first place.

That's really cool - I'd forgotten these , a friend's band (I think it was L'age D'or) bassist had a white fretless one which sounded great.
Never seen one before or since! That is such a bargain for a nice piece of kit. Good score!
