Jamesemt
I've just found this on the bay: http://wap.ebay.co.uk/Pages/ViewItem.aspx?...ass&emvcc=0 Is it any good? Looking for a funky customisation/restoration project...
Bassassin
I've just found this on the bay: http://wap.ebay.co.uk/Pages/ViewItem.aspx?...ass&emvcc=0 Is it any good? Looking for a funky customisation/restoration project...
It's similar to the Aria A-100 pictured here: http://www.matsumoku.org/models/aria/catal...og_pg1.jpg.html An awful lot of 70s starter basses with this Burns-inspired design turn up on Ebay - it actually looks like various factories in both Japan & Korea produced these. I would say the Encore's Korean, the mahogany neck & blank, round-cornered neckplate are typical MIK features & not usually found on MIJ instruments. Personally I wouldn't expect it to be up to much. Low-end 70s/80s Korean stuff was pretty dire and I would say it's about twice the price it's worth, particularly if it's going to be a project you spend money improving. Jon. Jamesemt
Cheers for that. There's a similar one on the bay for £40. Do you reckon it would be worth a punt at that?

This one also looks like it's had a new 4-saddle bridge & full-size tuners fitted already. Not to mention the pink sparkly scratchplate! J.
