spinynorman
Question for anyone who has a Line 6 BackTrack, either version. Can you connect a microphone to the guitar input? I've got a couple of dual impedance condenser boundary mics and I wondered if I could use them for recording into a Backtrack, rather than buying the more expensive version with the mic built in? cheddatom
Won't your condensers require phantom power? I reckon a mic would work but i've not tried it as I have the mic version sorry.
spinynorman
The mics have batteries, so I guess power isn't a problem.
cheddatom
ahh, it should work fine then, but I could test it tomorrow for you (if I remember).

I tried using the mics plugged straight into my laptop with Audacity and there's no volume, whereas a bass plugged straight in works fine. We're talking £25 difference, I should stop being a cheapskate and buy the +mic one.
cheddatom
yeh you'll be impressed with the mic - it can take some pretty loud sources and sounds great. I've used it a lot for capturing random samples to use on our album - the sounds of pots and pans and stuff like that. It's really useful.
