d6k Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Hi all does anyone know of someone in the uk who could fit an onboard amp / speaker to a bass its a steinberger spirit so not much room is it possible? pm if you can help. cheers Quote
OldGit Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 (edited) Hi Welcome to Basschat. I assume this is for playing when travelling? That's an interesting idea. There's a number of "travel" guitars that have built in amps but a Steinberger body is tiny so I'd imagine that woud be a step too far (expect luthier quotes way in excess of the value of the bass to put you off) It will probably sound awful anyway so why not just get a little awful sounding portable amp for a lot less money? geoffbyrne Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Put an Artec SDA-P or SDA-T in there and plug your headphones directly into the jack. http://artecsound.com/pickups/index.html G. Quote

To get anything that sounds even remotely like a bass you'd need a bigger box than it would be possible to fit into the body of a bass. If you're interested, I've got one of these that you could have for a tenner + postage. It makes your bass louder, and sounds a bit better than any of the micro guitar amps do. A Quote
