on board amp / speaker

Hi all does anyone know of someone in the uk who could fit an onboard amp / speaker to a bass its a steinberger spirit so not much room is it possible? pm if you can help.

I assume this is for playing when travelling?

That's an interesting idea. There's a number of "travel" guitars that have built in amps but a Steinberger body is tiny so I'd imagine that woud be a step too far (expect luthier quotes way in excess of the value of the bass to put you off)

It will probably sound awful anyway so why not just get a little awful sounding portable amp for a lot less money?

What about a little headphones amp?

Put an Artec SDA-P or SDA-T in there and plug your headphones directly into the jack.

There are a few guitars with built in speakers, and they all sound like a wasp in a jam jar.

To get anything that sounds even remotely like a bass you'd need a bigger box than it would be possible to fit into the body of a bass.
