Anybody know anything about old ribbon mics?

Going through 'stuff' and I'm clearing out when I found these...



Had these for yonks and I'm going to sell them but have no idea of worth... if they have any (came to me 20+years ago with a load of stuff I bought and they've been at the back of the draw ever since)!

Info on casing plate;

Ribbon Mirophone
30/50 ohms
Made in England
Reslosound Ltd

They have 3 pin fittings but a normal XLR won't fit. I've no further info so if anyone can give me some guidance it'd be appreciated.

Let me know i what you want for them... I have a pair of these already and need another set. Are the ribbons intact? do you have the cables and transformers?

I usually check eBay before asking about values but just assumed these would be too obscure/old! Heck if I can get that for the pair I'd be chuffed!

Off to Google the brand etc. but if anyone has some first hand experience of these things it'd be appreciated!

A man who knows his stuff... so what should I be checking with these and where might I get a lead to try them with (want to ensure they are working before I sell them; even at 50% of that eBay price )?

Was talking about ribbon mics with Garcia recently (rock and roll). Very delicate and can break if something blows into them, like a person or a kick drum hole. But they make fantastic room mics, and he is after some, so shoot him a PM.

Reslo ribbons were used by vocalists before the SM-57 made them redundant. As a vocal mike they were muffled and fed back badly. British made though - and vintage.

I have one of these. It's OK, but it's not a patch on a lot of other ribbons.
