cheddatom
This will be our first gig in ages so you know it'll be a great show, and we're playing with some great bands! Doors are at 8pm tickets are £4 so I guess it might be £5 to get in, but once you're in you can stay in for the club night, which is apparently good. You can hear us here myspace.com/nologorock The other main band is bad sandwich myspace.com/badsandwichuk And also playing are our friends called Screwloose myspace.com/screwlooserock EDIT: If you turn up and say "hi cheddatom, I saw your free beer advert on BC" i'll get you a pint! HarryPotter
That's what some of it sounded like to my old ears, and it was the closest analogy I could make. To be fair, I don't listen to many modern bands so there may be somebody with a closer sound and feel, I just haven't heard them. cheddatom
The gig was great - thanks to all who asked. It was quite packed out, and apparently it sounded great FOH. We played great and tight, loads of energy 'cos we hadn't played in ages. It seems the sound on stage at this venue, is always going to be crap. I personally had a great time with my two amps and monitor around me, but I couldn't hear any of the guitarist, and the only vocals I could hear were coming from FOH. After us was "bad sandwich" who I had not seen before, but were very entertaining. I know the singer from school, but he's been away in Brighton getting f*cked up and he makes for a really extroverted frontman. The best song was when the bassist and singer swapped, so the bass player could rap, and the singer play bass for him. The whole room was jumping! Incidentally, the bassist had a nice Ampeg/Ashdown rig but wasn't really cutting through FOH. I wondered if he was a BCer but didn't get chance to ask. HarryPotter
Front of House. What the audience hear. Better to be foolish for a moment than ignorant for a lifetime.
