any suggestions on a cure for a buzzing/interference sound from a magnetic pickup i have fitted to a Double Bass?

this dissapears if i have the pickup side on to the amp

it's been suggestted that it's "directional magnetic pulsing"

i'm using good leads but not the best Klotz type
