fatback
Just got meself a Doubler - Woot! Can't try it yet cos I'm waiting for a cab, but meantime, does anybody have any ideas for a cheap DIY gigbag or case for these lil beauties? It's so light (under 3 lbs, yes!), I'm afraid I'll throw it in my gigbag and damage it. There'd be tears
Colledge
i'm not sure exactly how big it is, but you could try one of those cheap memory foam laptop cases, used one all the time for my laptop and its surprisingly protective.
BassBod
Computer or camera cases are usually good options - or large sandwich boxes, even! I wouldn't put metal boxes (however light) into guitar gig bags.
Ghost_Bass
If you don't want to carry it in the outer pocket of your gigbag you can get one of those tool aluminium briefcases and get a nice piece of foam cutted in size to stuff it in wich you could cut the shape of the doubler to fit it. Something like this (but in the right context): http://www.hardcase.com/index.php?main_pag...ex&cPath=
fatback
Thanks for the ideas. I resent being asked for £50 for a bag.
fatback
Seems the big requirement is the right thickness chunk of foam to cut. Where on earth do you buy foam? (apart from an American pub - sorry A foam shop? Foam-is-us? Anne Summers Fantasy Foam store? But really. I'll need foam for this. franzbassist
Good score; the Doubler is a great head. Surely it's worth spending a bit to get something decent to keep a £500 amp in? How about one of these? Cheers Gareth
JMT3781
I had a genz benz shuttle 3.0 in a jessops camera case, worked fine

That Maplin stuff looks good. I'll check the size. I'm willing to spend £30 posted but not £60 posted. Everything here is £10-25 dearer cos of delivery. A camera case is a good idea too. Maybe I'm just reducing guilt, as in: if i can save £30 on a case that means it was just fine to spend xzillion£ on the gear Edited August 13, 2010 by fatback
