daz
Does anyone have any idea about this. Have Joy Division ever published any song books of their music? for instance what is this offering here does anyone know? Click for amazon link to book Doesnt seem to state what it is and no reviews either? Anything would be good even bass tabs if thats all there is, although obviously the proper music is much prefferable. ObscureRyan
Joy Division didn't publish any books when they were around, but New Order, Peter Hook, Rob Gretton or even Factory Records may have published some. Im not really sure.
BigRedX
What exactly are you after? If it's just the basslines surely you can work them out from the records?CDs? Hooky's bass is pretty much the lead instrument and nice and high in the mix. Once you've figured out his style and the fact that he sometimes uses two note chords it's all very straight forward. Time to stick your ears on and get listening.
Rayman
It's the only way to learn for me, I can't be doing with staring at bits of paper trying to work it out. Hooky's basslines aren't overly taxing, it should be pretty simple to just sit down and listen to them. I can remember playing along to Atmosphere (I think) and Dead Souls, on my Columbus Jazz, in the bedroom of my parents house in Macclesfield the day after Ian hung himself only a few hundred yards away from us. I ended up living only a few doors down from Ian and Debbie's house on Barton St. Edited August 13, 2010 by Rayman
