Why not?

I played that actual bass and very nice its was too. In fact I might well have bought it if I hadn't thought the finish was too dull and boring for my tastes.

Like the tubular metal one, as long as it's heavy enough for a good fundamental tone. Fret system is reminiscent of the Gittler guitars.
