ajerthebadger Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 (edited) Hi, Here is my 2004 MusicMan Sterling USA in an exquisite Firemist Orange. Recently set up and serviced with D'addaio XL Nickel Wounds 45-105. Low action and nice and bright, a real gem to play. I have tried my best to take good care of her, she has been fitted with Dunlop Strap locks and the buyer will get everything you can see in the case along with the hard case to put it all in. Obvious wear from playing has been photographed to best of my ability, no major damage. There is a crack in the hard case but the gaffa is holding well. I'd like to get [s]£1000[/s] [s]£900[/s] [s]£850[/s] [s]£800[/s] [s]£700[/s] £600!!. Buyer must collect from either Thatcham, Berks or Bristol or surrounding area within reasonable train distance (Reading, Bath etc). Any other questions feel free to email or PM. Heres the pics: Edited September 10, 2010 by ajerthebadger
warwickhunt Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 I'll declare 'interest' but I think at that price (or even close) it'll just stay as interest.
Hamsalad Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Hah! I automatically misread that as feminist orange. Beautiful instrument though, good luck with the sale.
Rowbee Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 My blue Sterling is the one bass I could NEVER let go. Yours is equally beautiful, but without meaning to be rude, I have to agree with Warwickhunt that you might want to reconsider your asking price.
Waldo Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Lovely colour that, reminds me of the Copperhead Stingray 5 that I had breifly.
absolutpepper Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010
Lovely colour that, reminds me of the Copperhead Stingray 5 that I had breifly.
Fantastic bass. But just to echo some of the others the asking price may be a tad high. The going rate at the mo for a Sterling is between £600-£700. Good luck with the sale though, looks like a cracker.
TommyK Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Hey, nice bass! I might be interested in a staight swap for my US Deluxe Jazz (just like the one in my Avatar). Pm if interested and i will send you some actual pics.
ajerthebadger Posted August 20, 2010 Author Posted August 20, 2010 (edited) Bump. Price drop to £900. Double checked serial number, actually a 2004 model. Will be hitting ebay soon if not sold. Edited August 20, 2010 by ajerthebadger

Rowbee Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Gigged last night with mine and goddamn I love it so much! I've owned mine since 2000 and although I've flirted with other basses, I've always come back to this one. Have a Sterling adoring bump from me too.
Rowbee Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 £700 is a very good price. Good luck with the sale and I'm sure you'll get some definite interest now.
fretmeister Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Spectacular colour! What is the difference between a Sterling and a ray?

ajerthebadger Posted August 30, 2010 Author Posted August 30, 2010 The Sterling is definitely smaller - body and neck. I'm not sure on the electronics side of things. I tried a Ray and didnt think it was much different in terms of sound, definitely not better IMO.
ajerthebadger Posted August 31, 2010 Author Posted August 31, 2010 Bump for final price drop. Who wants it?
