thinking of buying a fretless but can't decide on passive or active,what do ya reckon chaps ?
i only have a budget of about £400.

btw any one fancy doing a deal with my black Jaguar ?

Spend the money on a passive and add active electronics later if you find you need them.

Agreed Go Active, you get a more responsive tone when bending notes with a fretless. Do switch to passive from time to time too though the tone change does work well with certain sounds and pedals too.

Squier Jazz fretless really nice, and you could add a J-retro and upgrade the p/u’s later.
Mind you, if I was looking for a fretless with that budget there are two absolute crackers in the For Sale section right now – Rich’s Jaydee Roadie and Bassballs’s Warwick Fortress – both active, both luverlee!

thanks guys,i think active is the way for me to go + i've already got a fretted jazz so i fancy something different.
possible a warwick or even a fortress rockbass--are they any good ?

ok today i took the plunge & ordered a Warwick Corvette std active fretless :huh:
it'll be here in 6-8 weeks :)
all i have to do then is learn to play the bloody thing :huh:
