Hamster
I am jealous. Can anyone hint at the price of these? Is there a site with a variety of different colour combinations?
I think these are about £1k A few pictures here - http://www.station-music.de/bass/sandberg.html Hamster Edited January 5, 2008 by Hamster

New goal for paul, perhaps. -Cheers for the link Hamster! Edited January 6, 2008 by paul, the
paul, the
I've yet to play a bass without fret markers. Has it ever caused anyone any fuss? Oh, and how much do these weigh? simon1964
Thomann carry them at around £900. I seem to remember PMT in Birmingham have them at similar prices. There are some nice pics on the Sandberg site here: http://www.sandberg-guitars.de/ Edited January 6, 2008 by simon1964
NJW
paul - the sandberg weighs a touch more than my passive fender jazz... im not sure what that is in actual figures but it isn't a lightweight. the lack of fret markers has not been a problem for me at all yet, as the markers on the side of the fretboard are fine for me. again, the neck is a touch chunkier than on my jazz, which I really like (I'm a big guy, 6ft 4/5ish with hands to match). I would definitely recommend you try one out though and see what you think of it. I showed it to my bands sound engineer for the first time in his studio, and we DI'd it through an Apogee preamp and played about with it using the Ampeg SVX modelling software, and even just at that, he too was very impressed with it. paul, the
Thanks for the quick and detailed responses. There's no way I can afford or need one of these right now so you don't have to worry about me being sheepish . Just a thought for something to look out for second hand in half-a-dozen years or so. I think it's topped the American p/j Bob Glaub by a smidgen. I do like a neck a little chunkier than a jazz but not as wide nutted as an old Precision (the Sandberg looks great!). And I don't mind a little substance in my hands (does that sound gay? ) Anyway, a very cool bass. n1, NJW. Any chance of sound clips?
