dave_jagged
I have a 2x12 David Eden speaker cab and one of the cones has blown by the sounds of things. Does anyone have any advice of how to get this fixed as cheaply as possible? Should I take it to the Bass Gallery for example or buy a replacement online and get it fixed independently? Any advice extremely welcome.
JTUK
Difficult.. I would certainly replace like for like..if at all possible. To replace with another model gets into all sorts of stuff like cab tuning, chassis match..etc etc . Does anyone offer Eden speaker recones..? what does Eden say/recommend? Check the travel of the cone very carefully, to see if it is indeed the speaker itself.. It may well be the attentuator or fuse in it... I couldn't get PAS repaired here, and the price to get them shipped over from the states pushed me into getting 2 new chassis of another make from the UK as it was around the same when all said and done. I wouldn't do that again if a reputable speaker recone service was available.
Musky
Have a word with Wembley Loudspeakers. Most shops around London that accept drivers for repair ship them off there for the work to be done anyway. A quick check on the Eden site reveals their drivers are made by Eminence, so they'll be using stock parts.
