How to get a certain sound

I am big on a band called the Untitled Musical Project right now. Any tips for a set up and some tips for my playing to how to emulate there sound :-).

i've seen them live and the only pedal he seems to use is a boss bass overdrive, cranked up to full by the sound of it!

great band, they do about 12 songs in a 30 minute set!
