Pair of 15"s to fit in an old Orange 2x15 Reflector cab?

I know a guy who's got one of [url="http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showpost.php?p=8712924&postcount=26"]these[/url], which he was thinking about selling but he's discovered both speakers need replacing. He asked me if I know anything about speakers which of course I don't, so I thought it made sense to ask here on his behalf.

That centre section of the cab is sealed with one speaker firing upwards, the other down so I guess there's not a whole lot of room in there. He wants it to present an 8 ohm load so I guess a pair of 16 ohm speakers?

Any suggestions? I suppose he's looking for a suitably vintage sound.

Probably some sort of Celestion would be trad sounding. I'd message some oldschool speaker repair places and see what they recommend.

Find what's in it, see if they still exist and ask what is nearest equivalent, or if they have some useful specs.

I have a pair of Celestion 15's from a Trace rig that I decided I was never going to use again. they came from cabs that also had 10's in & I 'robbed' those to use as replacement speakers in our stage monitors (where they sound great!).

Can't remember offhand what models they are but the 10's are definitely 16 Ohms so I'm fairly certain the 15's will be as well.

To the best of my knowledge they've only ever been gigged once!

No idea if they are worth anything - maybe £50 the pair plus postage?
