daz
Is there any free software out there that will slow down an mp3? I know its asking a lot but is there any free /Public domain software that will also slow a track and keep the correct pitch? Mr. Foxen
This is more for making weird ambient pieces, but dunno what you are trying to achieve: http://hypermammut.sourceforge.net/paulstretch/
johnnylager
Best Practice does exactly what you want. And more. SteveO
Best practice (link) is a good free slower-downer, but as far as I know it's windoze only. There are others, a search on this site will give you more as this topic seems to come up a lot Edit: Beaten to it Edited August 22, 2010 by SteveO

Been using it for a while & never encountered a problem with it

Edit: Hmmm I prefer being able to change the tempo on the fly without having to re-render the song every time. Still, thanks for the heads up. andyonbass
Play the song in Windows Media Player, go into the VIEW menu, select ENHANCEMENTS, then PLAY SPEED SETTINGS, where you will find a slider to alter the tempo, as well as fast, slow and normal buttons. mep
Audacity all the way for me. Windows media player will slow it down but you can only play it slow, not record it or covert it.
